Be bold. Be creative. Be part of the fight for a green and peaceful future.
At Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP), we believe a better world is possible and we’re determined to make it real. We are an independent campaigning organisation, powered by people and creative action, taking on the biggest environmental and climate challenges of our time. Our priorities are:
- tackling climate change by stopping emissions from fossil fuel extraction at source; and
- protecting nature, including our oceans and forests, by stopping the largest sources of environmental destruction like industrial fishing and deforestation.
Whatever your role at GPAP, you’ll be part of something bigger: a passionate global movement that sparks action, holds decision‑makers to account, and drives lasting change for people and the planet. This is an opportunity to use your skills, creativity, and commitment to help shape a future worth fighting for.
ENTERPRISE PLATFORMS LEAD
Role: Full-time, 12 month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Flexible - Open to candidates Australia-wide
THE ROLE
As the Enterprise Platforms Lead, you will provide hands-on implementation leadership and ongoing platform ownership across GPAP’s internal business applications, with an immediate focus on Workday and IT service management (ITSM).
Working at the intersection of technology, Finance, and People & Culture (P&C), you will translate complex business needs into secure, integrated, and sustainable platform solutions. You will lead implementations from initial requirements analysis and solution design through testing, migration, go-live, and ongoing support. Optimising standard platform functionality, low-code configurations, and approved AI capabilities to simplify workflows across the organisation.
You will also partner with IT Operations, other Platform Leads and implementation partners to improve workflows, maintain data integrity and ensure solutions meet GPAP’s technology, security and governance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own platform roadmaps, lifecycle planning, backlogs, and configuration standards for Workday, ITSM, and other internal tools aligned with GPAP’s Digital Transformation Strategy. Maintain access, approval, release, and audit controls.
- Have ownership of Workday and ITSM by translating financial, payroll, and employee lifecycle requirements into optimised Workday configurations. Partner with IT Operations to design and continuously improve the ITSM service catalogue and workflows.
- Drive hands-on execution for implementations, cutovers, vendor updates, data migrations, integrations, and ongoing platform releases while ensuring minimal operational disruption.
- Serve as the primary contact for Workday, ITSM, and third-party implementation partners. Define deliverables, oversee budgets, and manage service levels and vendor performance.
- Collaborate with MarTech, Salesforce, and AI & Data Platforms Leads to define integration requirements, error handling, and data mapping. Ensure sensitive workforce, payroll, and financial data adhere to strict privacy, security, and governance standards.
- Build organisational capability by developing departmental champions, self-service resources, and targeted training to boost user confidence and reduce reliance on specialist support.
THE TEAM
Our Data & Engineering team is a close-knit crew of technology experts, scattered across the country but united in purpose. We embrace a hybrid work model, allowing autonomy with the ability to come together for key projects as needed. Down-to-earth and collaborative, the team is all about making things happen.
The Enterprise Platforms Lead position will work closely with colleagues across the organisation. The role ensures that internal platforms are strategically governed, effectively integrated and consistently used by internal teams.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a collaborative technical leader who bridges the gap between enterprise platforms and day-to-day business operations. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves for hands-on Workday configuration just as much as you like partnering with Finance, P&C, and IT teams to map out long-term tech strategy.
Core Technical Requirements:
- 5+ Years in Enterprise Platforms: Demonstrated background in SaaS lifecycle management, system integrations, data mapping, and platform governance.
- Essential Workday Experience: Hands-on lead experience in implementing or configuring Workday functional modules through go-live.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to navigate the intersection of Finance, People & Culture, and IT Operations to align system design with business rules.
- Delivery and Vendor Oversight: Capability to guide third-party vendors and internal stakeholders toward agreed milestones, approved budgets, and secure cutovers.
Qualifications and Background
- Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, IT, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of non-profit operations, ITSM tools, or certifications in Workday, ITIL, or Agile are considered a strong plus.
We recognise that sometimes the right person for a job is based on personal qualities and not just qualifications. If you are not sure whether you are qualified, we would strongly encourage you to make an inquiry or go ahead and apply.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- Be part of a globally respected brand: Work with one of the most influential names in the environmental NGO space, backed by five decades of courageous campaigning.
